3 Ways To Stop Creating Resistance

Be aware of what you are thinking and saying. Language creates reality. Are you unknowingly creating what you don’t want?

While I was observing an Opportunity Meeting, I noted three things about the presentation that were, what could be called, “resistance creators”.

Could you be doing something similar without realizing it?

First, the presentation included justifying statements from the presenter like - "Network Marketing isn't what you think it is” and - “It’s not a pyramid scheme” with the presenter proceeding to explain what he thought it was and why it wasn’t a pyramid scheme.

He then continued to overcome some of the “perceived objections” that people “supposedly” have about Network Marketing, such as its legality and so on...

The presenter also made comparing statements that included how the company... "Had the best products... and... is the number one company in its field... had the best compensation plan... etc."
At the end of this, one of the guests turned to me and said, "I didn't know there was anything illegal about Network Marketing? And what's a pyramid scheme?" "Also" He added, "I didn't know there were other companies doing the same thing. I’d like to check them out."

So what happened?

Well, the presenter on the stage had unknowingly created resistance and doubt by making justifying statements and overcoming resistance when there was none to be overcome. He was also comparing the company and its products when it was unnecessary to do so, and assumed his own fears were the fears of everyone else.

Do you find yourself doing this? Justifying, comparing or stating something when it doesn't need to be?

Do you unknowingly instill doubt into the minds of people you talk with and then wonder why they resist you?

Do you find yourself saying the above and other things like...?

"I know what you're thinking...""You're probably thinking...""Let me tell you why this is..."
I can guarantee 100% that people do not think what you think they think! In fact, your thinking can get in your way. Your doubt and fear actually creates their doubt and fear. It reveals itself in your words, your tonality and your bearing.

So what to do?

Awareness is the first step to change.

Awareness allows you to change your thinking.Changing your thinking will change what you say.Changing what you say will change the way people respond to you.Changing the way people respond to you will change your results for the benefit of both of you!

So think about this! At your meetings...

Instead of saying - "Network Marketing isn't what you think it is." Try saying - "For many of us in this room, Network Marketing is a wonderful way to have your own business because..." and list some generic advantages.

End by asking a question, such as - "How would it feel if you could do the same thing and receive extra income each month, feel fulfilled or even give up your dependency on having to work for someone?"

Instead of overcoming what you think might be resistance, which means you think you know what everyone is thinking - Just keep your thoughts to yourself and address anything that comes up later.

Instead of saying - "We have the best compensation plan” Say - "We have a generous compensation plan that rewards people well."

Then continue by asking - "Have you ever thought of starting your own full or part-time business so that you can create your own security and start taking care of yourself and your family once again?"

And how about this?

Instead of saying - "We have the best products - " Try- "We have proven natural products that are designed to keep people healthy by making up for the lack of nutrition in most people's diets... a deficiency that is causing so many people to die of cancer and other modern day diseases."

"Have you ever thought about having a healthier life, helping others have happy and healthier lives as well, and receiving an income for it at the same time?"

Can you feel the difference?

And you don't need to be involved in formal style presentations to use these ideas. Any time you're speaking with a potential business partner or customer, these ideas will help you get better results and a better response.

Language is an incredibly powerful tool. As you can see from this article, if you use language incorrectly you can cause all sorts of problems for yourself.

How Can You Make a Big Dream Come True?

I know many of you reading this have seen and been inspired by the movie "The Secret". So here is a great message from Rhonda Byrne, Creator of the movie, that fits perfectly into success tips for a network marketer.

How can you make a big dream come true?

You need to have one secret element, and when you have that secret element, nothing will get in your way. That element is an intense desire! You must desire something with all of your heart to manifest it. Often the difference between those who manifest something and those who do not, is the element of desire. When you have a burning desire for something you ignite a fire within you that attracts with an incredible force. The law of attraction is magnetically drawn to that intense fire element in you, and it responds by gathering all universal forces to make your dream come true.

Very often we ask for things because we think our life will be better with those things, but inside of us we do not have an immense desire for those things. When you don't feel that immense desire within you, you are receiving guidance telling you that this is not something you really want. That is why it is so important to get clear on what it is that you really want with all of your heart, because what you really want with all of your heart is the very desire that you can manifest quickly.


When your heart is on fire with desire you will attract the right things to do, you will find visualizing so easy, and you will find it is effortless to think positive thoughts of your desire. You will attract all the qualities you need, such as strength, courage, belief, persistence, faith, and a powerful will. An intense desire lights up your being, producing a magnetic force that enables the law of attraction to cut through every physical obstacle for you and make your dream come true.
Go for your dreams! Don't cheat yourself in your life with petty desires because you don't think you can live your dream. THE DREAM inside you is the one thing that you have the greatest power to create, because you have an immense desire for it. Find the dream inside you - and make it come true!

No one can help you to make a smooth transition to natural selling better than than Michael Oliver , author of "How to Sell Network Marketing Without Fear, Anxiety or Losing Your Friends!"

Fear is perhaps THE greatest factor that holds many distributors back from taking a path different from the one with which they are familiar. The paralysis it can cause prevents them from having the freedom and abundance that is their universal right.

The fear trap is a real one; it comes from a focus on self, based on past conditioning, thoughts and experiences that are manifested in the present.

Here are seven ways of re-thinking that can help you escape that trap...
1) Instead of thinking of selling as an exercise in persuasion, think of selling as a problem solving exercise
2) Instead of focusing on the sale, focus on discovering IF there is a sale to be made in the first place
3) Instead of talking about your solutions, allow them to talk about their problems
4) Instead of guessing what people are thinking, saying and meaning, ask them what they are thinking, saying and meaning!
5) Instead of making the purpose of your business to make money, think first about your purpose as finding and helping people who have the types of problems your solutions are designed to solve. The money (your objective) will follow
6) Instead of attempting to persuade someone to listen to you and buy your products, first, learn how to listen to them, and what to listen for. Then they will then listen to you
7) Instead of persuading or telling people to change their present situation, learn how and what questions to ask that will help them automatically influence themselves to change
8) Instead of immediately talking about your solutions when you do hear a problem, ask them first how committed they are to solving their problem if the right solution came along.

Each one of these is a powerful distinction. Focus on one each day for a week, and I promise you'll be transitioning to natural selling and lose your fear in the process!

Nine Common Objections You Must Answer

Objections. You're going to get them, so be ready. Here are nine common objections that salesman and author extraordinaire, Brian Tracy, distinguishes for us:

1. Unspoken Objections. This is where the prospect has concerns but doesn't tell you anything. The solution is to let the prospect talk more. Ask open-ended questions and find out what is stopping them from signing up.

2. Escuses, Exuses. These look like,
"We are really busy right now and don't have time to think about it"
"We already have what we need"
"We are not interested right now"
These are just excuses. They are not really serious. Here is what you can say, "That's all right. Most people in your situation felt the same way when I first called them. But now they have become our best customers (or distributors), and they recommend us to their friends."

3. Malicious Objections. This is where people take out their "crappy" lives on you. They are very negative and criticize your opportunity or product. The way to deal with this is to realize you are not the target. Your job is to remain calm, confident, positive, and polite throughout. Very often this behavior will soften the prospect and encourage him to open up to you.

4. Requests For Information. This is AWESOME! This means that your prospect is genuinely interested. Compliment the person for asking the question. Take the time to answer it (or refer them back to the marketing site while you are still on the phone where they can get the answer) and ask them, "Does that answer your question?"

5. Show-Off Objections. Your prospect may try to show-off how much they know about your product, opportunity, or industry. Respond by showing how impressed you are. Make them feel important and they will eventually warm up to you.

6. Subjective Objections. These objections are aimed at you as a person. Whenever a person becomes critical of you, it could be a sign that you are talking too much about yourself. Start asking more questions and talk about the prospect rather than yourself.

7. Objective Objections. These are directed at your product or opportunity and the claims you are making about them. The prospect might say, "I don't think Zrii will do what I need it to do". Or, "Zrii sounds like like a great opportunity but it won't work for me". The solution is to provide testimonials that your prospect can relate to. Assure your prospect that they will get the same benefits.

8. General Sales Resistance. This always occurs at the beginning of the conversation. Lower initial sales resistance by using the approach close. Say, "Mr. Prospect, thank you for your time. Please relax. I'm not going to try to sell you anything today. All I want to do is ask you some questions and see if there is some way that Zrii can help you achieve your goals in a cost-effective way. Would that be alright?" When the prospect relaxes and gives you permission to ask him questions you can begin finding out what he really wants and how you can meet that need.

9. Last-Ditch Objections. You have made your presentation, and the prospect clearly sees how she would be better off with your product or service. She knows and understands what you are selling and how much you are asking. She is on the verge of signing up but still hesitates. "How do I know this is the best opportunity?" Or "Will this really work for me?" Just assure the prospect that they are making an excellent choice and that everyone else who has signed up is happy with their choice.

Once you handle an objection go to the closing question:
"What level of the business would you like to start?"
Business Builder ($1500), Part Timer ($1000), or Novice ($500)?

"Can you afford to wait another day?" The opportunity is now, don't you agree?

"How much money do you need to make each month?" Then you need to take advantage of the Premier level to fast track your cash flow.

"Is there any reason why you can't get started today?"

"Which auto shipment do you want to be on?" Product user or Business Builder?

"What credit card do you want to use?" Visa or Mastercard ?

"What day do you want your product shipped out every month?" 10th or 25th?

Then be silent.

The Key to the HUGE Results in Networking Marketing -- Consistency

Andrew Carnegie well-known 20th century entrepreneur and millionaire said:

"Show me a man/(woman) who can make a decision, act on that decision and stay with that decision, and I'll show you a man/(woman) who will succeed."

Even as we engage in the present sprint to reach 7-star by September 30th, remember that this business (network marketing/direct sales) is inherently a marathon, not a sprint. If you read anything written by long-term network marketing pros you will learn that it is far better to talk to one (or two or three) new people every day for months and years, than it is to talk to 10 people in day and then do nothing for the next 7.

Consistency and commitment can't help but yield results. It's inevitable. Have you talked to your one today?

6 Ways to Build Momentum in Your Network Marketing Business

I found this article in my inbox today. The author is unknown, but the sentiments are well known and yet so eloquently outlined I just had to share. Enjoy!

"I have people in my organization who have built a group of hundreds of people in their online network marketing group in 6 months, and others that only recruited a dozen or so people in six months. And I think I finally figured out why.

I think the "secret" can be summed up in one word: momentum.

And momentum doesn't seem to be created by massive effort, "big breaks", or charismatic, flamboyant personalities. As a matter of fact, from my own experience I can't find many common denominators between the leaders I know in the field of online network marketing. There are men and women, old and young, people from blue collar backgrounds as well as white collar professionals.

So how do you create momentum? Here are six keys that I have identified in people that I personally work with, in and out of my organization:

1. They have a vision of what they want and a plan to get there. Their "why" is strong. They usually have very specific reasons that they are building their business, and they are serious about achieving their goals. They have a business plan, and act from that plan, which includes their goals, strategies, and marketing methods.

2. They treat their business like a business, not a hobby. They are willing to invest in their business. These are the people that don't complain about the cost of marketing. They may not have large budgets, but they are willing to invest $200-$300 a month or more to achieve their dreams.

3. They are consistent. They work their business every single day, at least 5 days a week or more, where those that are unsuccessful work their business once or twice a week, if that. In Jim Collins amazing book, "Good to Great", he compares building momentum to getting a huge flywheel spinning. The first push doesn't do much, or the second or third, or even the hundredth. But over time, if you are consistent and never leave the task, you get it spinning so fast that even if you grabbed hold of it with all your might you couldn't stop it. Building an network marketing business is just like that, you have to give it consistent effort over a reasonable period of time, usually at least six months.

4. They take 100% ownership of their business. They aren't waiting on anybody else to do anything for them, they just dig in and get to work. You will never hear these people say, "I could be successful if I had a good sponsor". These people are going to get it done even if they have the worst sponsor in the world.

5. They are students of the business, constantly learning and studying. They spend time not only in personal development, but they are students of business and of marketing. They also invest a fair amount of time in trial and error, and discovering what doesn't work to find out what does. They're not afraid to fail if they learned a lesson in the process.

6. They are passionate about the products. It's rare to see somebody create a great online network marketing business if they aren't really passionate about what they're selling. These people are not only fans of the products, they are usually on the "big" autoship and are proud to talk to anybody about the products they represent.

It's not that hard, it's just that most people don't understand the power of consistent effort, with the right attitude, for a reasonable period of time. "

So I challenge you to apply these six principles for six months and see the success.
